Two Castles and an Abbey. When I first heard this name I thought it was a strange name choice for an ultra. But having run the race by starting from the Kantara Castle in the dark, getting across the Five Finger Mountains, climbing up to the magnificent Buffavento Castle and finishing the 80K course just in front of the Bellapais Abbey, I can now appreciate its true meaning.
I signed up for the race with Caner in February. I think at that time we were the first runners from Turkey. Both of us were registered for the Lavaredo Ultra Trail in Italy in June and for the UTMB in August so I thought this would be a good training race along with Iznik 130K in April and Cekmekoy 60K in the first week of May. Time flew by and a few more Turkish friends decided to come to the race.
